Synopsis

Karen is willing to give her life to free her beloved husband, Georg, from his financial worries. Only with the million he hopes to receive from the insurance company could he pay off his heavy debts to brutal debt collectors. Georg, who knows nothing of Karen's selfless intentions, has also come up with this idea - but under different circumstances: He has secretly hired a hitman. Karen unsuspectingly runs into the killer when she aborts her nighttime suicide attempt by the lake. Instead of doing his job, Bruno brings the drenched woman to safety. He soon begins to skillfully play her and his client off against each other. Karen learns the hard way who she had trusted so blindly: a pathetic liar who could hardly wait to replace her with a much younger lover. Now Karen's fighting spirit awakens, and she has a professional at her side for her plan: the ice-cold Bruno. The murderous game begins again.
