Synopsis
Winter 1944: the bombings continue over the city of Pola, a strategic military target for the defense of northeastern Italy, to which Venezia Giulia and Istria belong. However, the life of little Egea Haffner goes on like a fairy tale. There is the villa of her paternal grandparents, the Haffners, and the jewelry shop in the city center where her father, Kurt, works. In the spring of 1945, the war ends. In Istria, the "Titini," the army assembled by Marshal Tito, take over. One night, two of them knock on the Haffners' door, looking for Kurt, who disappears from that moment on, perhaps swallowed by the Foibe.
