Synopsis

As the day dawns on the 50th annual Hunger Games, fear grips the districts of Panem. This year, in honor of the Quarter Quell, twice as many tributes will be taken from their homes. Back in District 12, the two Donner sisters, Maysilee and Aprilis, are forced to say their last goodbyes when one of the sisters gets chosen to participate as a tribute in this year's brutal Hunger Games. - - - - Sunrise on the Reaping is an upcoming dystopian novel written by the American author Suzanne Collins. It is the second prequel novel to the original The Hunger Games trilogy, following The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, released in 2020. It is set 24 years before the events of the first novel. It is set to be released on March 18, 2025, by Scholastic. A film adaptation was announced to be in production on June 6, 2024, and is set to be released by Lionsgate on November 20, 2026.
