Synopsis

A kidnapping could hardly end worse for the blackmailed: the ransom is gone and the hostage Dan-Linh is lying dead in the car. The fact that her fiancé Otto von Glanzberg shot one of the two kidnappers in the back after the handover does not make the job any easier for Chief Inspector Sascha Bergmann and his colleague Anni Sulmtaler. To Bergmann's anger, the count's lawyer claims the act was self-defense, and the all-powerful landowner himself is always one step ahead of the investigators in the case of his dead fiancée thanks to his good contacts. It soon becomes clear that apart from Otto, no one in the Glanzberg family is mourning the bride who is not of the right social standing. Bergmann would like to arrest the count and really tear the fine clan apart. But his superior Nicole Sturm is keen on a discreet approach. While Bergmann and his colleague are investigating at full speed, the count unthinkingly triggers the next tragedy.
