Synopsis

The common loon has stirred our souls for thousands of years. But now, their numbers are plummeting. Why? Loons: A Cry from the Mist reveals the secret lives of loons and the work of scientists who want to save them before it's too late. Rare footage captures them underwater, in flight, tending nests, fending off attacks and engaging in fierce territorial battles. Over the course of a breeding season, we witness their daily efforts to raise their chicks from tiny fluff balls into full-sized young adults. What threats do they face, and what challenges must they overcome? Without answers, the common loon could disappear.
