Synopsis

The married couples Livia and Richard, and Amira and Martin, are neighbors and friends; their children are "best buddies." Once a year, they go on vacation together. But this year, everything is suddenly different: Architect Amira is busy with work, and Livia discovers that her husband Richard is cheating on her. A vacation together under these circumstances - unthinkable. On the other hand: Why should everyone go without and spoil the fun for their pubescent children? This is the compelling argument of the pragmatic Amira. So Livia and Martin pack up the children and go together to their beloved holiday home in the Algarve. But of course, nothing feels right. Livia and Martin realize that, although they have been friends for years, they don't really know each other at all. What are they supposed to do together when their minds are already at home in Germany? This can't go on. Out of necessity, Martin and Livia try to make the best of the situation - and become closer than they could have imagined. Suddenly, they feel an intensity between them that their lives have been lacking for a long time. When Amira and Richard unexpectedly show up at the door, the lovers have to find out if something new is really beginning for them.
